Lesley Johnsen is a licensed acupuncturist, with a passion for partnering with clients to empower them on their personal healing journey. She has worked in various integrative medical settings, including the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. She has focused much of her work around pain management and addictions, and currently works as acupuncturist and wellness instructor at various addictions facilities in the valley.

 

After being in practice for over 10 years, Lesley received her Doctorate in Acupuncture from the Pacific College of Health and Science. Prior to this, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the TAI Sophia Institute, the first accredited acupuncture school in the United States, in 2009. During the same year, Lesley also completed coursework for a Master’s Degree in Applied Healing Arts (now known as Transformational Leadership and Social Change), also from TAI Sophia. Through this educational process, Lesley became steeped in the art of combining wisdom traditions - including Five-Element Acupuncture - along with modern science and the philosophy of healing for the whole person, not just treating symptoms. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and integrates the importance of the emotional and spiritual root of dis-ease in all client treatment planning.

 

Lesley’s work is a direct reflection of her enduring commitment to her personal and professional development. She is deeply involved in the Nonviolent Communications community and is committed to heart-centered connection as a basis for communication in all she does.
